The customer
Nijland Cycling, a family-owned manufacturer with 65 employees, builds cargo bikes, rehabilitation bicycles and city bikes, with a focus on stability, steering, comfort and safety.
The challenge
The heaviest model, The Chariot, carries loads up to 550 kg. The existing rims were not rigid enough when couriers hit curbs, which called for a complete reassessment of the tyre / rim / suspension system.
Why Vlukon

Development

Result
Custom rims with clearly superior strength, plus complementary torsion springs for the rear suspension that improve ride comfort and reduce road impact. Nijland cites Vlukon’s comparable size, flexibility, in-house capabilities, communication and quality as reasons to recommend us.
